MESSAGE FROM THE LEADERSHIP
We invited Sandrine DEMANGEAT, Head of School at Lycée Français de Toronto, to share a message.
The overview highlights the vision, values, and guiding principles that shape leadership and the student experience at Lycée Français de Toronto.
Sandrine DEMANGEAT, Head of School
It is with great pleasure that I have taken on the role of principal at the Lycée Français de Toronto, as what our teams have built here is very close to my heart: an ambitious and vibrant project, but above all one that is deeply attuned to the needs of every student and
every family. Because yes, it is possible to have high aspirations for our students while supporting them with kindness, and it is precisely this demanding vision that we carefully nurture here.
My career began in a classroom, where I taught literature for twenty years, before moving into school administration. That hands-on experience has never left me: I remain convinced that, at its core, leading a school is above all about nurturing the relationship between a teacher and their student. Since 2013, I have had the privilege of holding leadership positions in France and internationally, notably at the Lycée Français International Georges Pompidou in Dubai.
At the Lycée Français de Toronto, our team works closely with passionate and dedicated teachers, guided by three values that unite us: humanism, curiosity, and excellence. We believe in our students and expect them to give their very best—which is why we place such a high value on our small class sizes. Here, every student is known, valued, and personally supported by the adults who surround them every day.
What are we most proud of? Seeing our students graduate from our school fully bilingual, confident in their intellectual abilities, and ready to become open-minded and responsible global citizens.
I’m really looking forward to welcoming you and your family and helping you discover all of this!
