Lynn-Rose students have always been very active in their community involvement and fundraising efforts and this year is no exception. For the past 10 years LR has been part of the We Schools Program, part of the WE Movement. WE Schools challenges students to transform their thinking and encourages them through social awareness and fundraising campaigns to make a difference in their community and globally. Students are empowered to think critically and to make a difference. This fall, one of the campaigns that the students took part in was the WE Initiative Food Drive. Together our school community collected 707 pounds of food for the Eden Community Food Bank. Students also participated in the global charity, The Movember Foundation by purchase a "mustache" to wear for the day. Lynn-Rose raised $198 in support of various prostate cancer and men's health initiatives. These campaigns are selected, organized and run by the students and represent fundraising initiatives that they are passionate about. Thank you to all the students who worked very hard to organize these school wide initiatives. Stay tuned for more fundraising and social awareness campaigns throughout 2018. Way to go, Lynn-Rose!
