The end of a school year provided everyone at TFS with a time to reflect on the wonderful memories that were created during 2014-2105. The recent Senior School graduation ceremony reminded the entire community once again of the incredible journey that our students embark on while at TFS.
Seventy-nine exceptional students stood on stage that day. They were an inspiration academically, with 84% of them having achieved averages above 90%. They were well-rounded and talented, with interests that ranged from athletics and aeronautics to the arts and debating. They were caring and generous and collectively had completed 10,000 volunteer hours as a way of giving back to the community. They are ambitious and determined, having received offers from 78 prestigious universities in Canada and around the world. While these results are exceptional, the path that led them to graduation day should be equally celebrated.
As Mirna Hafez, acting Head of School, noted recently, “Many of these graduates joined TFS at a young age and even then, they were brimming with questions, playful, curious and at times innocently mischievous. As they worked through each grade, they matured, discovered their gifts and interests and forged deep friendships. They faced challenges and learned to overcome them. Learning new skills, adapting to increased expectations and a challenging workload, and balancing numerous priorities was not always easy. Yet, they continued to flourish with hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of their families and of the school’s faculty and staff.”
Their journeys through the years ring of tenacity, creativity, compassion and a strong work ethic, and forged them into citizens of the world.
Bonne chance to our remarkable Class of 2015!
