X School has a Progressive approach to Curriculum (as opposed to Traditional, Liberal Arts, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf approach).
X School takes a progressive, learner-centred and neuroscience-informed approach to education. Rather than adhering to a single educational methodology, we draw from a range of evidence-informed practices and tools that support how children learn and develop best. Elements and materials drawn from approaches such as Montessori may be used where they support individual learners, but X’s educational model is uniquely its own.

X School has a Play-based approach to Preschool/K Curriculum (as opposed to Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, Academic approach).
X School’s Kindergarten approach balances developmentally appropriate academics with play, exploration and hands-on learning. Kindergarten learners are part of our broader mixed-age learning community, giving them opportunities to learn alongside and from older learners while still working at their own academic level and pace. Their days include focused literacy and numeracy, outdoor learning, movement, creative exploration, STEM experiences and hands-on projects. Guides encourage curiosity and growing independence, giving learners opportunities to make choices, solve problems and explore their interests. We believe the early years should build strong academic foundations while protecting the play, movement, wonder and discovery that are essential to childhood.

X School has a Student-paced approach to Curriculum Pace (as opposed to Standard-enriched, Accelerated approach).
Learners work at their individual academic level and progress as they demonstrate mastery, rather than moving through curriculum according to age or grade. Regular assessment helps guides identify each learner’s needs, allowing some to move ahead while giving others the time and support needed to build strong foundations.

X School has a Supportive approach to Academic Culture (as opposed to Rigorous approach).
X School has a supportive academic culture with high expectations for individual growth. Learners work at their actual level, allowing them to move ahead when ready or spend more time building mastery where needed. We prioritize strong academics without creating unnecessary pressure, helping learners develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning.
The goal is to cultivate "emotionally intelligent and confident individuals, capable of leading both themselves and others."
The goal is to cultivate "academically strong, creative and critical thinkers, capable of exercising rationality, apprehending truth, and making aesthetic distinctions."
X School aims to develop grounded, confident and capable young people who know themselves, think critically and can adapt to a changing world. We intentionally develop emotional intelligence, self-awareness, resilience and leadership alongside strong academic and critical-thinking skills. Our goal is not simply what learners know, but who they are becoming.
