Michelle Vaudrin, founder and principal of Écolita Trilingual, today announced that her trilingual pre-kindergarten and elementary school will now be known as Vaudrin Academy. The new name is a reflection of the school’s history and the personal touch behind its success.
“We’re completely overhauling our public image,” said the founder. “The new name reflects my personal commitment to the school. I’ve made it my mission in life to unlock the true potential of all our students,” she added.
It all started 10 years ago when Ms. Vaudrin, a linguistics and educational neuroscience expert, discovered her children had health and learning challenges. After 15 years teaching in public schools from elementary to cégep levels, she realized that founding Vaudrin Academy was the only way her children could get the best possible education according to their individual needs.
“I knew that my daughter was gifted but anxious and shy... so many kids fall between the cracks,” explained the mother of 2. “I wanted to create a place where children are happy to learn and teachers are happy to teach.”
By using innovative, scientifically researched methods and programs, all children can truly reach their full potential. One such researched notion happens to be the simple yet unique learning philosophy behind Vaudrin Academy: “Everyone must be happy”. The principal has repeatedly seen first-hand how the mind of a happy kid is more receptive to learn. “Whether your child is extremely gifted, has learning challenges, or is painfully shy, happiness is what unlocks your child’s ability to shine,” she said.
Along with the new name, the school also updated their logo and launched a new website.
“Although our image is changing, our parents and students can rest assured the values that they have come to know and appreciate us for won't change,” noted Ms. Vaudrin. The 100 students attending Vaudrin Academy learn 21st century skills such as communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking in small classes.
Vaudrin Academy will hold an open house on Wednesday, May 7th from 6pm to 8pm. The event is an opportunity to visit the schoolhouse and get answers to any questions. Parents and future students will also have a chance to meet with Ms. Vaudrin and members of the teaching staff.
