Private schools in Canada have admissions policies, and they require application materials. These may include letters of application, application fees, essays, and tests (such as the SSAT). Many schools also require interviews with prospective students. Schools also use different criteria for evaluating student applications, have different acceptance rates, and target different kinds of students. To improve your child’s chances of acceptance, find out everything you can about a school’s admissions policies and how they assess applicants.
What Hudson College says about their admissions requirements:
Completeour inquiry formto receive application information, schedule a meeting with or admissions team, or register for an upcoming event.
Submit an application using our admission portal. We accept applications throughout the year, but recommend applying by the first deadline in November for the best chance of placement.
Upload all supporting documents (a copy of a birth certificate/passport, up-to-date immunization records, final report cards from the previous 2 years, additional grade-specific documentation) and request a teacher/principal recommendation using the admission portal.
Our team will contact then you to confirm whether we can proceed with an assessment (JK–Grade 9) and/or interview (Grade 10 and above). Applicants to JK–Grade 8 will also be invited for a visit day at Hudson. Please note that placement in each grade may be limited or for a waiting list, and that due to scheduling limitations, we may not be able to invite every qualified applicant to complete the next steps. An application fee is only due after confirmation of an interview/assessment, and families will receive a decision within 2–6 weeks of the visit day or interview.
