On Saturday, July 12th, Professor George E. Forman will be giving a presentation at VINCI School of Ottawa.
At 2PM, the co-author of the book, “The Hundred Languages of Children: The Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Child Education,” will begin his presentation on “Child the Scientist – How Parents and Educators Can Help Children to Build Higher Order Thinking.”
Professor Forman is one of the key advisors for VINCI Blended Learning Curriculum, the winner of CODiE2014, and for the VINCI School’s Creative Learning Centers. He’s also a Professor Emeritus from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
He’s spent over 30 years studying children and how they learn and is considered a guru on Reggio Emilia. He is a frequent speaker at conferences where he has the chance to showcase his cognitive analysis of the Reggio concept. Prof. Forman has been working with the city of Reggio Emilia in Italy since 1986. He's been working to bring higher stature to their educational model in the United States and Canada.
Prof. Forman spent four years working on Harvard’s Project Zero, an early symbolization project, and is now currently collaborating with others to develop more! Alongside the Concord Consortium and VINCI Education, Prof. Forman is in the works of developing Next Generation Science curriculum for young children.
This presentation by Prof. Forman is open to both parents and educators to come and join the discussion on how to best raise happy, healthy and competent children.
