The Federation of private schools includes 190 establishments located throughout the province. These institutions provide services to more than 110,000 students from preschool and primary and secondary, or about 12% of Quebec enrollment schools.
The vast majority of private schools, contrary to what the private label suggests, are actually non-profit organizations that belong to the civilian community. Some are co-parents or teachers. Among its members, the Federation has 12 institutions which exclusively offer special education services to students with social maladjustments and learning. The Federation also has 17 institutions with a school residence.
Private school is autonomous. It has a flexibility allowing it to effectively meet the needs of their students and adapt to the demands of a changing society. Formerly associated with elite private school has been democratized and offers today 'Today a series of programs and measures to accommodate students with diverse backgrounds and different socio-economic backgrounds to lead them to success.
