This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Resilience: When young kids learn to code, they become problem solvers and develop critical thinking. With any problem solving, children have to stay with the problem long enough to find meaning solutions. Coding develops a child's ability to develop perseverance and resilience as they create fun projects
  • Creativity: Code-it Hacks Inquiry and play-based summer camps ensures that technology is used towards solving a real-life problem that is out of the box. Each camp demands students to engage in fun group-based activities to develop creative solutions all while having a blast with crafts and technology

Enjoyed your last trip to the VR game world! Now let's build one. In this camp students will learn the technology behind the 3D builds. They will design and build multiple worlds and characters and experience them using the Web A-frame and Google Cardboard

Solution Topic

  • Introduction to game design using Web-based A-Frame platform​

Students will learn:

  • Engineering process
  • Game design for VR environments
  • Techniques for 3D development
  • Learn the basics of programming
  • Learn web-based A Frame platform and introduction to HTML
  • Presentation skills

Students will make:

  • Campers will design and build multiple mini 3D builds and explore their creations using Google Cardboard
  • Campers will complete a full research to build Gaming project in 3D

Students will take home:

  • Design Sketches
  • Research Journal
  • Portfolio of programming projects

Students will visit:

  • Students will either visit Science centre on Friday or will be visited by a tech company for expo
