    What will my child learn in debate camps?

    Debate camps teach your child crucial skills. First, your child will learn the basics. They’ll also be given the opportunity to deliver a speech and engage in individual or group debates in front of an audience, and be given feedback on their performance. And in many camps, they’ll participate in competitions, such as the Junior National Debate Championships, in Canada, or the National Debate and Speech Tournament, in the US.

    Overnight camp presents many opportunities for personal growth that you simply can’t get through any other experience. These are shown to increase resilience, independence, courage, and other character traits. 

    Theatre arts camp is a great way to improve your stage presence, develop and improve your voice projection and elocution, and increase your overall confidence in front of a crowd. 

    Acting camp is similar, but it may also include coaching related to film and TV acting, teaching you specifics about using facial expression and your eyes to convey meaning. 

    Comedy camp is slightly further afield, but it’s a great way to learn improvisation, to develop your comic timing, two skills that a great to add to your public speaking and debating repertoire.
