Our Leader-in-Training (LIT) program gives our senior campers the confidence and skills that apply both at camp and out, all while making lifelong friends. LITs go on a once-in-a-lifetime white water canoe trip either in northern Ontario, Quebec, or even in the Artic. On this trip, they take part in a leader-of-the-day program, where they join the trip leaders on reading the maps, organizing the campsite, making meals over the campfire, and more. Back in camp, LITs help run our special events like the Olympics and Relay day. This gets them used to interacting with and caring for younger campers.
The LIT program prepares campers for being a Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) and eventually a counsellor, where they would gain even further leadership skills and responsibilities. Therefore, the LIT program is a setup for the best summer job one can have!
