This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

Resilience: There are few activities that build resilience better than canoe tripping. There are the physical challenges of paddling and portaging, the mental challenges of overcoming the discomforts of outdoor travel, and the social challenges of navigating group dynamics towards a shared goal.
Independence: At Pathfinder, boys are challenged to discover what they can do, and what they can do without. Parents often report that boys return home with a newfound sense of assuredness about their place in the world and a determination to manage their own affairs throughout their daily and weekly routines.

Over a 1, 2, 3.5, or 7 week session, boys embark on unforgettable adventures, paddling iconic waterways, forging deep friendships, and building resilience. Each day combines thrilling exploration with skill-building, from mastering paddling techniques and navigating lakes to honing teamwork and leadership. Campers return from trip to our rustic island on Source Lake to enjoy a variety of in-camp activities like the ropes course, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, and more. As they development their skills they earn coveted 'AA' cards, also known as Activity Achievement cards.

Throughout the summer there are day trips to famous Algonquin Park hikes, the Algonquin Art Centre, the Logging Museum and other park staples of the like. On special nights, we gather around the fire after a full-camp evening program to share our stories from the trail. The end of each 3.5 week session is celebrated with a Canoe Regatta and Swim Meet as well as an awards banquet dinner where the entire camp dresses their best!
