Two Week Session

Hurontario's two week sessions offer campers the opportunity to settle into camp life and explore everything the camp has to offer. Try every camp activity while making new friends with your cabinmates; head out on a 1-2 night canoe trip within the Massassauga Provincial Park guided by your experienced counsellors; and take part in special event days that run throughout the session. All-camp games, exciting relay races, saturday night campfires, cookouts at our islands, cliff-jumping at our favourite spots, and many more fun events are scheduled around activities to ensure every day is busy and fun-filled from the moment our campers wake up to when they settle down for bed. Unique to Hurontario, two week campers receive canoe lessons from their counsellors on the way to and from some of their activities. As we paddle around our island or out into the archipelago, groups use their canoes almost like bicycles to get to where they want to go, exploring the natural beauty of the area as they paddle. Every camper travels off-island at least once a day. At the end of the two week session, campers proudly take home their completed art and woodworking projects and a new level swim badge after having received swim lessons from our qualified instructors. Two week campers often leave camp at the end of the session hoping to return for the full 3.5 weeks the following summer, having made great new friends, gained some independence, teamwork and leadership skills, found new talents in themselves, and learned to celebrate them in others.
