Some of the fascinating things taught or introduced at aviation camp include the following:

  • Large passenger jet flight simulation
  • Radio communication and air traffic control operations
  • Professional flying protocols such as pre-flight inspections and the creation of logbook entries
  • Introductory identification of airplane parts and their functions

Some specialized aviation camps will also include an actual flight, of course.

Camps may run for a week or longer. Young pilots at these camps will enjoy training from flight instructors who are often licensed pilots, as well as trained teachers and mentors.

Of course, education at these camps is not restricted to aviation. They’ll meet other flying enthusiasts from throughout the same city. As with camps of any type, kids gain confidence and grow in independence, among many other benefits to personal growth.
