Who are you as an organization?
For more than 45 years Discovery Day Camp has been creating a fun, exciting, and memorable camp experience for children (4 years of age and older) made up of a multitude of programming focusing on creative arts, athletics, science as well as programs within nature and the outdoors. What do you do differently or uniquely well?
"Discovery Day Camp offers programming for campers that includes a variety of activities such as Arts and Crafts, Sports, Robotics, wood working, swimming and much more! Our unique partnership with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority provides campers in our Grade 1-6 program to participate in an incredible outdoor Education experience just minutes away from the city! Taking part in activities such as ropes courses, canoeing, fire building, and other wilderness skills makes for an unforgettable summer camp experience!"
Who are your staff and counsellors?
"Each staff member is hired directly from our Camp Director. All staff go through an interview and reference check process. Each staff member is trained in First Aid and CPR. Prior to camp starting, the staff attend training sessions and workshops in order to create the best possible experiences for our campers! Our staff come from a wide range of educational backgrounds including teaching, Arts and Sciences, "
What do families need to know about registration?
"It is easy to register for Discovery Day Camp! Simply visit our website www.discoveryday.ca where you will find important information in regards to our programs that we offer. We run a total of 4 sessions throughout the summer, each session runs for a 2 week period. COVID-19 Response
The health and safety of our camp community is our top priority. It is the mandate of The Discovery Day Camp (DDC) to operate under the following principles: Provide a safe and healthy environment for campers and staff. Physical Distancing, Cohorting and De-densifying Communicate accurately and in a timely manner with staff, campers and families regarding COVID-19 developments and resulting protocols. Stay informed on updates and advice from York Region Public Health and the Government of Ontario and implement changes, as necessary. Strictly enforce guidelines set out for staff, campers and parents. Prior to the start of camp, all staff will be trained in COVID-19 Safety Protocols as part of their Professional Development. We will follow all current infection control protocols already in place for cleaning and disinfecting.

We’re pleased that you are interested in Discovery Day Camp as the place for your child’s summer adventures! We have put together an outstanding selection of programs as we await the approach of summer, anxious to see our beautiful property come alive again with the joy and energy your children bring each and every day they come to camp. We encourage you to read through the descriptions in this Web site, which will help you make the right choice for your camper! Discovery Day Camp focuses on programming such as the Art, Nature, Robotics, Coding, Sports, and much more! Our Partnership with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority allows campers to take part in experiences such as canoeing, boating, tree top ropes courses, learning about survival skills, and Animal habitats just to name a few!
