The Trusted Source for Families since 1998
Young Engineers brings hands-on STEAM-R learning to families and schools across Toronto’s West End, including Etobicoke, Bloor West Village, The Junction, and Roncesvalles. We are a mentor-based program where children design, build, test, and improve real engineering creations using mechanical systems, motors, and age-appropriate coding.
Our focus is on developing an engineering mindset: problem-solving, creativity, and resilience through meaningful, real-world projects. With a low instructor-to-student ratio and bilingual, mobile delivery, we support both English and French-speaking schools.
We offer school-wide workshops, in-school clubs, weekend programs, and camps, all designed to inspire the next generation of thinkers and builders.
At Young Engineers, what sets us apart is our mentor-based, thinking-first approach. Instead of following instructions, children are guided to ask questions, make decisions, and take ownership of their work.
We intentionally create space for trial and error—where mistakes are welcomed as learning experiences, and used as a tool for discovery. Our instructors act as mentors, not demonstrators, supporting each child’s ideas rather than leading them to one “right” answer.
We also build continuity and trust through consistent instructors and long-term relationships, creating a safe environment where children feel confident to take risks, express ideas, and grow at their own pace.

Young Engineers High Park offers a robust mix of camps and year-round STEM programs for kids who love building, experimenting, and figuring out how things work. Standout features are the sheer breadth of options, the thoughtful structuring of each program, and low staff-to-student ratios. Buildable models and custom sets help kids understand STEM concepts through hands-on learning as they create machines, models and robots. Age-appropriate programming means young kids can start with early coding and science-based building, while older kids can move into mechanics, coding logic, robotics, and engineering. It can be an ongoing, continuous learning pathway for any child. The focus in everything is on making education thrilling as early on as possible. Camps’ liberating setting helps kids learn collaboration and gain other soft skills like resilience and problem-solving, while having fun with other kids from the area.
At Young Engineers, our instructors are more than counsellors—they are trained mentors who guide children through the engineering thinking process. Our team brings diverse backgrounds in engineering, education, and hands-on STEM fields, combining technical knowledge with strong communication and mentorship skills.
All instructors are trained in the Young Engineers curriculum and teaching approach, with a focus on classroom management, engagement, and mentor-based learning. They are also trained to work with children, supporting different learning styles and building confidence in a positive, inclusive environment.
We prioritize a consistent team, allowing children to build trust and meaningful relationships over time.
