What’s unique about UTS: March and Summer Camps that made you want to enroll your children there?

When I was looking at all the camps that were available, I was specifically looking for something a little bit more scientific. I liked the fact that UTS: March and Summer Camps offered that because there weren’t too many at that time that offered a lot of the scientific aspects.

I liked the introduction to a lab, the ability to be more hands-on, and some of the more scientific concepts.

Was this your child’s first experience with UTS: March and Summer Camps?

A lot of the camp experiences that my daughter had were more related to sitting at a table doing some worksheets and then having playground time. So it was very structured in that way.

I liked the opportunity UTS Camps had for her to be a little bit more hands-on. Not only would the teacher be showing certain concepts, but she would be able to participate in those concepts.

That’s what I really liked about UTS: March and Summer Camps, in that it offered that opportunity. Not only was the teacher showing her how to do stuff, but she was able to get right in there and try it herself.

Was there any change or noticeable personal growth in your child after spending time at UTS: March and Summer Camps?

I found that at the end of the camp, she was a little bit more outgoing. I think there might have been some shyness at the beginning, but towards the end, I found that she had made some friends.

She was a little bit more bubbly about it. She really wanted to talk about it. She was really excited that she was able to take part in that experience.

How can a parent support their child to get the most out of this camp?

Because UTS is a science-related camp and I think it was geared towards a certain age group, a review of the primary or more basic concepts might prepare them.

In addition, I think parents should let their child know that it’s okay to ask questions, it’s okay to be inquisitive, and it’s okay to be curious. I think the only way to learn is to be willing to speak up and participate.

What does your child say about UTS: March and Summer Camps?

She was really excited. She told me all about the experience and what she did pretty much each step of the way.

She was really excited that she was able to find out that earthworms act in a certain way. She was able to dissect them and inject the earthworms with certain items to see how they react.

I think that was all very exciting for her. She was very excited about being able to do all that because she had never had that type of experience in the past.
