Forest Hill Taekwondo offers programming for students to build & foster their physical, mental & emotional well-being. Our professionally trained instructors are constantly working on ways to improve & build upon our community relationships. Through school partnerships & after school classes, we strive to provide a safe inclusive space for our families, students & community.- Special needs: Yes, mild support. Director's Message
Yvette Yong, Head Instructor
Tokyo 2020 Olympian, Team Canada, Member of CAFI began my Martial Arts journey when I turned 9 years old as a birthday gift. My father was a Kung Fu master and naturally I wanted to follow in his footsteps. Unfortunately there were no school nearby except a Taekwondo club and stepping into that club was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Taekwondo has indefinitely guided me through the years, teaching me life skills such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit -also known as the 5 tenets of Taekwondo, making a true martial artist.
I’ve had a long competitive career with over 16 years on the Canadian National team with my last biggest game competing in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
My goal is to pass on my years of knowledge, experience and skills to all my students while making sure they learn in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.
