Outdoor Camping Leadership is a specialty leadership course that combines the goals, lessons, and knowledge of our leadership program with an emphasis on outdoor education, nature, camping, and practical life skills. Participants will learn the fundamentals of camping, including campsite setup, outdoor cooking, shelter building, fire safety, and Leave No Trace principles. Outdoor Camping Leadership includes environmental-based workshops, sustainable food exploration, programming, and so much more — all while exploring the outdoors around the neighbourhood on bicycles! Participants will take on team challenges, awesome games, and new adventures as they build confidence and leadership skills in the great outdoors. Camp week 1 leaders will be required to have bicycles, locks, and helmets to explore the city on bikes! Camp week 2 will include a 4 night camping trip contingent on availability and campsite access! Attendance is compulsory and certain skills must be demonstrated in order to successfully complete this program. Coordinator: Erica Nowlan (Recommended for participants entering grade 7 to 10;).
