How did you know L&E World Camps was the right fit?

We were looking for a camp that had a mix of children from different countries. That felt important to us. We were looking for a camp that had a range of different activities that wasn't focused just on sports or just on more creative activities. So that really appealed to us.

The location obviously was incredibly attractive just because it's so beautiful, the school that the camp is based at. So that felt like a huge draw to us as well.

What’s unique about L&E World Camps?

I think the thing that we really liked about L&E World Camps, and that felt unique to us, was that it was a mix of children from different countries. That felt really unique and really special. I think also the way that the camp was arranged so that kids of different ages kind of mixed together was also really wonderful, and my kids really, really enjoyed that.

Obviously, the setting of the camp is absolutely stunning, and the facilities that that setting allows for. So, for example, the lake. They have an ice rink. I mean, just really amazing things on site that they're able to access.

In terms of the less tangible things, I think it really felt like everything had been really beautifully created. It felt like they had put a lot of effort into hiring really incredible counselors, really kind, warm, nice counselors. And it felt like that and the activities that they curated, just so much thought had gone into it. And that felt really, really special to us.

Was there any personal growth you saw in your child after L&E World Camps?

Huge personal growth for both of them. I would say for both of them, just a real sense of confidence from being away at camp for 2 weeks. I mean, that felt like a really big deal. But I could tell that they came out of that experience feeling really good about it. So, a huge sense of personal confidence. And I think just having tried new things and met new people, I really noticed that.

For one of my daughters, she'd had kind of a tougher year at school, and I really noticed that she was able to kind of take the confidence and the social skills that she'd gained at camp, and she was able to really apply those in coming home. And they were able to kind of apply that sense of confidence in other new situations, which I found really wonderful.

How can a parent support their child to get the most out of this experience?

I certainly felt hesitant in sending my kids away to an overnight camp. I think just do your research. The staff at L&E were really kind and patient. We had a couple of calls with them where we were just able to ask a lot of questions. So I would say take advantage of those resources because it felt like we had plenty of time to ask questions, and that felt really helpful to us.

Even though my children were not very good at communicating with me during the camp, the communication that came from the camp was absolutely incredible. Every single day the blog would be updated with tons of photos and photos of all the kids. So I could really see that they were genuinely having a good time. I could tell by the smiles on their faces that they were having a really, really amazing time.

That level of communication that we were getting from the camp, just in terms of the photos and what they'd been doing, I think that was really helpful for me as well.

What would you tell other parents about the overall value of sending kids to L&E World Camps?

I would say there was so much value in sending your kids there, huge value in terms of the confidence gained, trying new things, meeting lots of different people, which I think just leads to a general kind of openness when you're meeting people from different countries. I think that's really great for kids to experience. So, so much value.

What do your children say about their experience with L&E World Camps?

My children have so many good things to say about L&E World Camps. I mean, they could talk for hours about it. They absolutely loved it. When we picked them up, they said, "Why did you come so early?" Because they just wanted to stay for longer.

They both absolutely loved the residential aspect, just being kind of away from home. They loved the activities. They loved the friends that they made. They loved the counselors. They loved the staff. I mean, there was nothing that they didn't love about it. They just have so many good things to say about it.
