This program is designed to build the following character traits:

Self-regulation: Students will learn discipline and self control as they learn how to play this beautiful sounding instrument.
Curiosity: Students can develop a real passion for music by playing the cello. It's a great instrument for musical exploration.

Neighbour Note is the place to go for private cello lessons in Toronto. Our cello lessons are fun, rewarding, and challenging. They are also incredibly eclectic and modern. The last thing our cello teacher wants to do is discourage our students with boring lessons using the same old approach. Although we specialize in classical cello lessons we make sure to also allow students to learn popular music such as film and video game scores and even Heavy Metal!

Our students get to choose what type of music lessons they would like to learn. Some arrangements of video game and movie scores are available for new students, as are popular and heavy metal. Bands such as Apocalyptica have made the cello cool! They are really showing how versatile the cello can be. Apocalyptica is a quartet that records and performs heavy metal songs by different artists. They started by recording Metallica songs on the cello and then branched out from there to record other heavy metal artists. As a group, Apocalyptica are true explorers, always seeking new frontiers and uncharted territories in which to express themselves. They are just one of the bands that Neighbour Note cello teachers introduce to students.
