ORANGEVILLE PREP WBB will be much more than basketball, it will be the ultimate preparatory program, helping young women not only master their confidence on the court but also in the classroom and in the boardroom. The Orangeville Prep Women’s Advisory Board will provide direction and guidance to the program as well as MENTORSHIP to athletes — Women Leading Women. The Advisory Board will play an influential role in the development of these young women who aspire to utilize basketball to further their post-secondary goals and ultimately lead them to incredible and fulfilling professional careers, whether they be in basketball or not.
“Orangeville Prep's mission has been and will always be to provide support that is needed for the driven athlete,” said Jesse Tipping, President, Athlete Institute. “We hope to be able to add as many resources as possible to allow the future women of our program to unlock their ability to change the world for the better. The future is bright for women in sport and we hope to illuminate their path, so they can shape the future that our country needs.”
New Girls Elite PROGRAMMING will be a cornerstone in the overall development of our Athlete Pathway. Annual Player ID Events will allow athletes and parents into the facility for a practice, tour, and program presentation. This allows the coaching staff, the athlete, and the parents a chance to see if ORANGEVILLE PREP WBB is the right fit for everyone involved. Girls weekend camps, overnight summer camps, and Regional Youth Academy will offer the highest levels of coaching beginning at a young age and will aid in developing the Orangeville Prep Women of the future.
To be the best means working with the best and Orangeville Prep is continuously seeking and developing PARTNERSHIPS with the best and brightest in basketball, business, brands, non-profits and facilities to continue providing the greatest opportunity and development for our youth basketball athletes. If your organization is strongly aligned with the values and goals of Orangeville Prep, we want to hear from you.
Team selection will run April-June 2022, with the inaugural ORANGEVILLE PREP WBB season beginning September 2022. The 10-month program, concluding in June, consists of daily practice, strength & conditioning, academic support, additional Athlete Services (mentorship and wellness), and a highly competitive game schedule. ORANGEVILLE PREP WBB will compete in Canada’s most competitive high school prep league, the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (View OSBA Women’s Alumni) and in additional weekend tournaments in Canada and USA.
“I think this is an amazing time to start the Orangeville Prep Women’s program, said Tony McIntyre, Director of Basketball Operations, Orangeville Prep. “We are in the midst of a historic time in Canadian Basketball and there is nothing better than to journey through this with a women’s program representing Orangeville Prep.”
“We are excited to provide young women the opportunity to discover, grow and accelerate their entire student-athlete pathway at Orangeville Prep moving forward,” said Alex Dominato, Director of Athletics, Athlete Institute. “We have some incredible announcements during Women's History Month that will fully detail our commitment to the growth of the women's game on and off the court. Orangeville Prep looks forward to playing a major new role in your basketball journey.”
