International Language Camps Celebrates 30 Years in the French Alps

nternational Language Camps is celebrating its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of welcoming children and teenagers from around the world to Megève in the French Alps.

Founded in 1996, the camp was created around a simple idea: children learn languages more naturally when they use them while living, playing and building friendships with other young people.

Over the past 30 years, generations of campers have come to Megève to learn English or French while enjoying sports, outdoor adventures, cultural activities and life in an international community.

Today, International Language Camps continues this tradition with programs for children and teens aged 6 to 17. Small groups remain an important part of the camp experience, with around 40 campers per week, a staff-to-camper ratio of approximately 1:5 and language classes limited to eight students.

Residential campers stay in high-quality hotel accommodation in the heart of Megève, offering families an alternative to traditional dormitory-style summer camp accommodation. ILC staff are present on site day and night.

For Summer 2027, campers can choose from three age-specific programs: FUN (ages 6–9), ADRENALINE (ages 10–13) and TEENS MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE (ages 14–17).

As International Language Camps enters its fourth decade, its philosophy remains the same: helping young people build language skills, confidence, independence and friendships across cultures while experiencing summer in the French Alps.

Here’s to the next generation of international campers in Megève!
