This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Responsibility: Learning to care for self and others in an aquatic environment
  • Physicality: Needing to pass a number of physically demanding tasks to pass

COURSE DESCRIPTION 
Bronze Star is excellent preparation for success in Bronze 
Medallion and provides a fun introduction to lifesaving 
sport. 
The course develops swimming proficiency, lifesaving 
skill, and personal fitness. Candidates refine their stroke 
mechanics, acquire self-rescue skills, and apply fitness 
principles in training workouts. 
PREREQUISITES 
None! 

REQUIRED MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT 
The required materials for this course are: 
▶ Canadian Lifesaving Manual 

There is no required equipment for this course. 

All of the material required for this course can be 
purchased at Oakville Swim Academy.
