What I find unique about this program is it's focused on language. It covers vocabulary and writing skills and also it focuses on public speaking. So I think having the combination of both things is unique.
I think it kind of pretty much checked off what I was looking for for my son in terms of language development and public speaking. In addition, it’s great that I don't need to go to two different places to help my son work on his language and public speaking skills. Since Power of Words offers both, it’s a great fit for us.
Yeah, he’s definitely more confident in dealing with larger crowds, and also his vocabulary and his writing skills have definitely gotten better.
I think the first thing is to believe in the program and make sure to help your child with their homework and make sure they are on top of it. The other type of support you can offer is more of a long-term commitment. Building up language skills is not going to perfectly happen over one or two years. You need to help your child master and perfect their language skills over several years.
I think of it as long-term like going to school, from Grade 9 to Grade 12. Help your child with whatever skills it takes to master a language, and this will help you achieve the best results for your child.
He really enjoys the program. I think the classes are so much fun. So it's not like he is dragging himself there—he looks forward to going. So that's a really good sign. I think he really likes his teacher, the instructor. He feels really connected to the teacher and has a great connection with them. It helps that the teacher is charismatic. It also helps that the program is designed to make language learning fun, so kids are getting the work done without feeling like they are trying so hard. My son really likes the fun environment and how much he’s learning.
