My daughter learned a lot and enjoyed the weekly camps. She had great mentors, and she enjoyed the time out under the sun and paddling on the lake. This is a great skill to learn. Thank you to the whole Sunny Paddling Club team. I will recommend this camp to others and also will register my daughter next year. This is the best summer camp experience she has had. I am glad that she is confident enough to rent a kayak and paddle on the lake by herself.
I was looking for a different outdoor camp for my daughter last year and then found this program. She liked it a lot last year and this year too. It's very near to our home. Paddling is something to learn and enjoy in summer. It's worth experiencing the water and the sun in the summer.
The camp usually starts with spikeball and then some learning about the technique. Next, they choose their ride and paddle for around 1-2 km, have snacks, paddle again, and have lunch. They stop at one of the playgrounds and spend some time there. At the end of every session, they work on STEM and build some boats using recyclable items. They race and do whatever else, and have some nice memories to cheer.
They worked as a team, competed, and enjoyed their day together. She planned her second week of camp with her friend, and they had a lot of time together. However, in the first week, she made some friends and focused on paddling and riding for 5-6 km each day. They explored the area around the paddling club and had a great time.
She got confident and would like to take me on a kayak next time. She has knowledge about a kayak/canoe structure. She even knows how to steer and paddle, and how to react if she falls from the boat. She understands a kayak is more stable than a canoe. She would like to rent a kayak and wants to explore by herself. She didn't have to do anything out of her comfort zone, though.
All the mentors were friendly and welcoming. They planned the program really well to grow kids' interest and make this learning enjoyable. Even though they were under the sun for most of their time, they were not exhausted. Rather, they explored the area and learnt about flora and fauna around this area. Initially, there were some conflicts of understanding due to a sudden change in the program; however, they were quite responsive and resolved the issue promptly. I appreciate that.
Earlier, I also recommended this program to my daughter's friends, and they registered for it. I would appreciate it if you could send the discount-related email before the registration starts. I got the email for the discount after the registration. My daughter was part of last year's program also. This time, I got to know about the discount for last year's campers after I made the payment.
