How did you know this was the right fit?

One of the interesting things about the Academic Camp Canada medical program was that my daughter was interested in medicine, and this gave her an opportunity to see whether it might be a fit. She ended up not going into medicine, but I think some of the hands-on experience, talking with doctors, and working with the program gave her an idea that this may not be the path that she wanted to take, but she learned so much, and she had such a great experience. She met so many people and came home with all kinds of new skills.

What's unique about this camp?

Some of the highlights of the Academic Camp Canada program are obviously the location. It is set at a beautiful campus in Rosslyn, New Brunswick, at Rosslyn Elementary School, and that is just incredible. It's its own little private safe area. In terms of the program, I think that the hands-on nature, the qualifications of the staff, and the opportunity to work with kids and learn from students from around the world was incredible. It also gave her an idea of whether or not medicine would be a career path that she wanted to follow.

What was your experience like with the camp staff?

When you meet with the staff at Academic Camp Canada, you instantly know that your child is going to be well taken care of. They are very responsible, and they're there for making this experience as amazing as possible and supporting your child in every way. There is no hesitancy to send a child to an overnight camp with them. They are professional, warm, caring, and just such a great organization.

What would you tell other parents about the value of sending kids here?

Academic Camp Canada provides an outstanding experience for students to travel, to meet new people, to go out of their comfort zones, and to try new things, and I highly recommend it. My advice to other parents who are thinking of taking part in an Academic Camp Canada camp is go for it. The program is so comprehensive, the staff is so caring, the organization is very professional, and your child will have a blast. They will come out on top and learn so much. Traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing local culture in another environment is priceless.

What does your child say?

My daughter took part in the Academic Camp Canada Medical Camp and it was exceptional, from the sessions with the instructors to Zoom calls with industry leaders and experts, and all of the hands-on activities. She came home and would be discussing the day at dinner and all of the different activities that they took part in. When your child comes home and is talking about summer camp at dinner, you know it was a really, really good day.

Final thoughts?

My daughter really enjoyed the Academic Camp Canada experience. She met students from all over the world. She learned from professional instructors and brought home so many new skills. She had a great time, and it was definitely a highlight.
