This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Resilience: Designing robots take resilience. "In order to build a good robot, the secret is to build a LOT of bad ones!" Success is becoming comfortable with failing, until you finally succeed...
  • Interpersonal skills: Robotics teams require students to work together at every turn. Designing the robot, building it together, and piloting it at a competition as part of a team of robots, building interpersonal skills is a key component of being on a robotics team.

Serious about robotics? Bot Camp runs a variety of official VEX IQ teams that compete in a full-year competitive robotics program. Open Team members meet 3 times a week for a total of 6 hours a week, and receive mentorship from our award-winning competitive roboticist instructors. Students will work in teams of 4 to design, build, program, and pilot robots to enter 2 local VEX IQ tournaments in an attempt to qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championships. Cost includes all tuition, robotics parts, year-round laboratory use, and registration fees for 2 local tournaments.
