This course is taught by an important member of Canada’s younger generation of Wildlife Artists, Dwayne Harty.

During the course he will combine his abilities as a colorist and draftsman with his thorough understanding of the animals indigenous to this Ontario wilderness setting.

Demonstrations, presentations, lectures, slides, individual and group evaluation, and hands on field work with one on one guidance with our two artists in residence will make this a valuable and unique opportunity for every student. The program will also include a visit to the Algonquin Art Gallery and The Algonquin Park Visitors Centre.

Students will have the opportunity to visit and paint on location at sites that Tom Thomson and members of The Group of Seven took their inspiration from many years ago.

Dwayne’s work is represented in public, private and corporate collections in both Canada and in the U.S. Dwayne is assisted by Canadian artist Gene Canning.
