Known for its engaging summer camps and math competitions, the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) offers meticulously designed programs, which are comprehensive and enjoyable educational experience. The CMS Summer Math Camp, hosted at Carleton University, features a curriculum covering number sense, algebra, data management, geometry, and measurement, divided into three tailored classes: 'Math for the Fun of It' for ages 6-11, focusing on interactive and playful learning; 'Math for the Next Level' for ages 10 and up, aimed at deepening understanding and preparing for future academic challenges; and 'Shooting for the Stars' for ages 12 and up, offering advanced problem-solving and conceptual connections. In addition to the camp, CMS runs the Canada Jay Mathematical Competition (CJMC), a stimulating challenge for students in grades K-8, featuring 15 multiple-choice questions that enhance problem-solving skills and complement the school curriculum. Under the guidance of Termeh Kousha, Executive Director and University of Ottawa professor, CMS's programs ignite a passion for mathematics, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and encouraging students to explore potential STEM careers. By making math both accessible and enjoyable, CMS aims to bridge the educational gap, providing a valuable and enriching experience for all participants.
