This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Resilience: When young kids learn to code, they become problem solvers and develop critical thinking. With any problem solving, children have to stay with the problem long enough to find meaning solutions. Coding develops a child's ability to develop perseverance and resilience as they create fun projects
  • Creativity: Code-it Hacks Inquiry and play-based summer camps ensures that technology is used towards solving a real-life problem that is out of the box. Each camp demands students to engage in fun group-based activities to develop creative solutions all while having a blast with crafts and technology

Learn the basics of electricity, circuits, and coding in this fun and educational camp. Kids will make their cute plushies with built in circuits

Design , Experiment, Build

  • Learn the engineering process
  • ideate and brainstorm your perfect cuddly monster
  • Learn the basics of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Learn the basics of programming 
  • Learn basic circuitry with Arduino
  • Build and present

Students will make:

  • Cushy monster
  • Cuddle bug
  • They will design and sew their plushie
  • They will build a light up switch circuit and embed the circuit in the plushie 

Students will home:

  • Entire project
  • Arduino lilypad board
  • lilypad leds
  • Other electrical components
  • Other maker component

Students will visit:

  • Students will either visit Science centre on Friday or will be visited by a tech company for expo
