This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Resilience: When young kids learn to code, they become problem solvers and develop critical thinking. With any problem solving, children have to stay with the problem long enough to find meaning solutions. Coding develops a child's ability to develop perseverance and resilience as they create fun projects.
  • Creativity: Code-it Hacks Inquiry and play based summer camps ensures that technology is used towards solving a real-life problem that is out of the box. Each camp demands students to engage in fun group-based activities to develop creative solutions all while having a blast with crafts and technology.

MAY THE CODE BE WITH YOU

Channel the force with the power of CODING. An exciting STAR WARS themed camp to teach kids the fundamental of coding.  We will be creating exciting platformer games to get through the deep dark mysteries of the galaxies known and hidden far far away!

  • ideate and brainstorm exciting game ideas
  • Learn the fundamentals of coding in PYTHON

  • Designing multi-level games
  • Fundamentals of coding:
    • X and y coordinates
    • setting up template
    • coding for gravity
    • variables
    • Conditional statements
    • loops
    • functions
  • Testing and improving 
  • Presentation skills

  • Students will make a series of coding projects and a final multi-level platformer game

  • On-line portfolio of projects​

Where will you go?

  • This camp will visit a tech company or the company leadership will visit us for Expo
  • This camp may also have a topic related field trip
