In Roblox Game Design + VR – Pokémon Catcher, young game creators step beyond playing and into the world of 3D game design, scripting, and immersive experience-building with Roblox Studio. Campers build colourful, interactive environments inspired by Pokémon adventures, where players explore, collect items, and refine and experience gameplay from a virtual reality (VR) perspective.
Throughout the week, students learn how Roblox games work by making guided changes to pre-written scripts, giving them hands-on experience with game logic, object interaction, progression systems, and basic Lua scripting. Alongside mechanics, campers explore how player experience shifts in VR, discovering how movement, scale, and design choices shape interaction in 3D worlds.
Each day follows a creative build cycle: campers explore the environment, design interactive elements, test and refine gameplay mechanics, and witness how their code directly affects player experience. By bringing together world-building, scripting, and experiential design, students deepen their understanding of how games are made from the inside out.
By the end of the program, children will have:
Roblox Game Design + VR – Pokémon Catcher is perfect for young designers who love game creation, storytelling, and exploring new technology in a playful, immersive environment.
