CLASSIC KITS, JASPER PARK LODGE, JASPER ALBERTA
Kids in the Spotlight
MARCH 24 – 29, 2019 – KIDS IN THE SPOTLIGHT – JASPER PARK LODGE, JASPER ALBERTA.
KITS Camp Backgrounder:
Classic KITS is the flagship Kids in the Spotlight Program. This five-day course involves children and youth of all ages creating a musical production over the course of five days. What happens during those days is extraordinary—so much so that the program’s earlier graduates are now enrolling their own kids. KITS isn’t just about the performing arts, the program is based on current, peer-reviewed research about what supports healthy development in children and youth.
Residential offering - 5 sleeps - arrive and have dinner as a group - parents, caregivers and children (mixed ages) together with youth interns and leaders.
After dinner, everyone attends the first session. The sessions are held over the next 4 days with activities taking on different constellations involving everyone. A show is held on the last evening with a dance party afterward. The last morning involves feedback, sharing, a closing ceremony, folding in the families and a group photo.
