Campers will explore the culinary world through hands-on cooking experiences, with programming planned by registered dietitians from the School of Nutrition Sciences. Throughout the week, mini-chefs will build foundational kitchen skills such as food safety, knife handling, measuring ingredients and reading recipes, all while preparing delicious dishes from scratch. They’ll also learn about the connections between food, science and health, helping them develop confidence and healthy habits in the kitchen.
Each day includes culinary-themed games, outdoor activities with camp counsellors and plenty of opportunities to taste what they create. The package also includes a pool visit on Wednesday of each week.
Please note that pick up and drop off for culinary camps will be at the University of Ottawa’s Nutrition Centre located at 200 Lees Ave. Camp staff will be on site to greet you alongside posted signage.
In this global food adventure, campers prepare recipes inspired by cuisines from around the world, discovering new flavours, traditions and cooking techniques.
