Who are you as an organization?
Our French Language Centre combines the best of French language education and culture, offering students a unique immersion in the French language at our Centre in Oakville. We offer a variety of French classes and camps throughout the year to suit different ages and levels and our instructors are native French-speakers, who make learning the language enjoyable and engaging.

The Our Kids review of Le Petit Écolier French Language Centre
Starting your child off with a second (or subsequent) language is important if you want them to be multilingual. Kids who start learning other languages young have a better chance of retaining what they learn and using the language naturally, with an added bonus of being able to pick up further languages a lot easier. At Le Petit Écolier French Language Centre kids get the basis for learning and loving French from a young age. Using various activities that are stimulating to kids, their French instruction seems effortless. The facilities here are very French with Paris and Montreal and all the fun things related to these cities (think chocolate) being front and center. There are many resources for kids to enjoy that aren’t specifically academic, like interesting books and magazines. All instructors are native French speakers and are very friendly and accommodating, with the patience to teach young kids the language.

Dear Parents and French Learners,
Welcome to a new school year!
This year, we are planning on having a jam-packed program offering, full of exciting activities in additional to regular French Classes!
I believe that at Le Petit Écolier, we can provide a great basis for your child to start not only learning but also loving French from any age. It is a safe space where kids can flex their linguistic muscles with not only our teachers, but also their peers and get exposure to the Francophone world! Try our method today, we have offerings both onsite and online.

To learn a language effectively, one must fall in love with it first...
As a fellow Canadian student, I studied French growing up and continued up until university as I knew it would be a valuable skill. However, after a long 11 years of study, I struggled to speak the language when I finally had to use it. During my undergrad, I had the opportunity to study in France on an exchange program, the cultural and linguistic immersion was phenomenal, however, my French wasn't. It didn't make sense, I had studied it all these years, I knew how to conjugate the pesky subjonctif, yet I still struggled to speak it with ease and confidence. It wasn't until I developed a passion for the language that I saw a turnaround in my ability to speak French. For me, being immersed in the culture and actually seeing French outside the traditional classroom was the game changer, and is what ultimately lead to my French improving significantly.
I joined Le Petit Écolier because their mission is just that, we help students truly love and speak the French language. Our language Centre is not your typical language school, the beautifully designed Centre is equipped head to toe with resources and various themed rooms to make learning as engaging and stress-free as possible for our students. Our passionate Native instructors focus heavily on instilling that love for the language. Our various Events, Summer Trips (hopefully resuming next year), and Camps are all designed to fully immerse our students in both the culture and language. Unfortunately, this passion is much harder to develop in the traditional classroom alone due to large class sizes and the fact that schools follow a strict academic curriculum. Our classes are on average 6 students. Our lessons are in a way supplementary support (or that extra push) to help students succeed at speaking French with ease.
If I was able to go back in time, this is a school I wish I would have had the opportunity to join as my abilities in French would have peaked much earlier on.
