Medics Camp-Forensic Med L2

This week, Medics will journey into a different area of medicine where doctors and scientists specialize in identifying and analyzing microscopic clues to help solve crimes. Think of them as doctor detectives!

Level 2 (ages 7-9) will use their observational skills to notice small details, they will explore bugs, nature, genetic traits in animals and humans, fingerprints, footprints, owl pellets, scat and then use their problem-solving skills to solve crimes of theft.  

Level 3 (ages 10-13) will learn about forensic pathology, odontology (teeth), entomology (insects), anthropology (bones), DNA, blood basics and dactyloscopy (fingerprints). Throughout the week, they will be presented with team challenges where they will use their problem-solving skills and attention to detail to successfully complete each activity.  On Friday they will use the skills they’ve learned to solve a non-violent crime. There may even be a few escape room challenges for our doctor detectives!

Every effort has been made to present the information and activities in age appropriate, kid friendly ways but if your child is particularly sensitive, our Discover and Explore camps would be a better fit.
