This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

Creativity: This camp promotes creativity by letting campers experiment with beats, melodies, vocals, and arrangements, encouraging original ideas and personal expression in their music production.
Independence: This camp promotes independence by teaching campers to create and produce their own tracks, make creative decisions, troubleshoot technical challenges, and take ownership of their music projects from start to finish.

Step behind the mixing desk and into the spotlight with our Music Production: Pop Superstar Edition camp! Learn the fundamentals of digital music production inside of Merriam’s professional music studio! Discover the endless possibilities of digital music production and learn professional tools to produce your own music in Ableton Live. This hands-on program teaches campers how to create radio-ready tracks using the tools and techniques behind today’s biggest pop hits. From building beats and layering vocals to crafting dynamic arrangements, students will learn the full process of bringing a song to life. Our instructors break down complex production skills into fun, achievable steps that boost creativity and confidence. Campers will experiment with professional software, collaborate on projects, and develop their own polished pop track. With superstar-themed challenges and an upbeat studio atmosphere, every day feels like a session with a hit-making team. Join us to discover what it takes to produce music like a true pop sensation!

Prerequisites:

Minimum 1 year instrument experience

Campers must bring their own laptop computer (running up to date version of Windows or Mac Operating Systems)

Campers will be supplied with headphones, MIDI keyboards, and other essential audio equipment for the duration of the camp.
