What do kids gain from Mississauga soccer camps and programs?

Soccer camp is an exhilaratingly fun way to stay active in summer and build skills they’ll use on the soccer field for the rest of their lives. Whether your child is new to the beautiful game or is already an avid competitor, soccer summer camps and related after-school programs offer kids many benefits. Here’s a glimpse of what kids gain:

    • Better ball control. Through drills and increased practice, a Mississauga soccer camp helps kids develop better dribbling skills, as well as passing, shooting, and other footwork.
    • Physical activity. Kids use up energy and get fitter. They’re off the couch, away from the screens, and gaining a deeper appreciation of physicality.
    • Character growth. Like all camps, Mississauga summer soccer camps have a strong social element. Kids meet other soccer players from elsewhere in the city, and they inevitably learn lessons in interpersonal skills. These camps can also be the place to develop resilience, independence, self-regulation, and help kids develop deep character traits
    • Good for the brain, too. Young soccer players learn how to think faster, which translates into better in-game decisions and becoming better players, but it can also have benefits in the classroom and long-term, as has been shown – and there’s also a connection to better mental health, too.
    • Fun. Camps are a loose setting, unlike league play or other competition. The casual environment can remind kids that enjoying the game really is more important than winning.
