This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Courage: Students will gain confidence as they face their fears and perform live in front of an audience.
  • Tolerance: Learning an instrument like the viola is a great way to develop patience. It also helps develop hand and finger strength as students become more and more tolerant of the physical challenges.

Ah the Viola or what many people call the big violin. The Viola has a richer, mellower tone when compared with the Violin which tends to be more brilliant and flashy.

The Viola has often been called the Cinderella of the orchestra and has often been made fun of. Thanks to writers such as William Primrose and Lionel Tetris, the Viola has become more popular and more music is being written for it. Neighbour Note offers fun Viola lessons at our High Park music studio, online, or right in the comfort of your Toronto home! Our passionate viola teachers will share their love of this instrument with you and your family. It truly is a great instrument to learn!
