This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Self-regulation: Students will learn discipline and self-control as they learn to play the bagpipes!
  • Courage: Students will gain confidence as they progress with their weekly lessons. They will also overcome fears of performing live with numerous student recital opportunities.

Bagpipes are cool. They have the ability to get people on their feet. Whether to dance or to march, people start moving when they hear the pipes playing! Bagpipes are the only instrument ever deemed a weapon of war. This is due to the fact that they were actually used to scare enemies on the battlefield! Bagpipes have been sampled in popular Rap, Hip-Hop, and Punk Rock songs such as House of Pain's Jump Around and Dropkick Murphy's I'm Shipping Up To Boston. Neighbour Note offers modern and traditional Bagpipe lessons in the comfort of your Toronto home or at one of our studios.
