My son spent 3 weeks last summer at the New Renaissance Bilingual School summer camp. He enjoyed it a lot. The most attractive feature for me is the Chinese language environment. The students learn new poems and rhymes every week. I was so surprised that he memorized the poem and recited it to me at home. He recited ‘sympathy for peasants ‘during lunch and told me we can’t waste food. That was a very memorable moment for me. The lunch option is also a really good option, it includes lunch and all the snacks. I really like that it provided Chinese food 2 times a week with Italian, Japanese and other ethnic foods the rest of the week. Of course, like a typical summer camp, it offers crafts, sports and various fun activities. We have a 6-year-old and have tried several different camps in Vaughan. Initially, we were impressed with the school grounds, the private gymnasium and the convenient location. The classrooms are large with plenty of sunlight. The outdoor grounds are simply amazing with an enclosed private yard, basketball court and playground. As the camp progressed, we experienced New Renaissance's excellent teachers and staff, amazing teacher-to-kids ratios, healthy lunches, good variety of activities, and a great after-care program. Our little one always came home excited and wanting to go back. Furthermore, the Mandarin and French lessons clearly had an impact as our boy would come home telling us about new words!
