This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of drawing, including contour, gesture, value, perspective, foreshortening, surface treatment, and composition. Emphasis will be placed on learning to see and experience the world from the artist’s viewpoint. Classes will be structured combinations of shorter exercises and longer, more developed drawings. A variety of wet and dry drawing media will be used.
Note: This course is appropriate for all levels including introduction to intermediate. It is also good preparation class for 639 Life Drawing for Teens. Basic material provided.
