Now that the teams are set and a regular routine of games and tournaments has been established...let's not forget to keep training throughout the year to keep those skills polished.
The type of training may be different in the winter then in the summer due the school schedule, but the training you do during the Fall and Winter are what help you to maintain those new skills. In addition to maintenance, it crutial in developing new skills and acheieve long term goals.
One simple way to do that is to practice change of speed movement, whether that while driving to the hoop or using a screen. Training isn't only figuring out how to be faster and stronger, but also smarter.
Our goal for the 2017-2018 season is to create a supportive environment where players are encouraged to ask ‘why’, so that they can understand and implement those new found skills into games.
