Medics Camp Announces Installment Plan Making STEM More Affordable

Summer camp costs continue to rise due to increased labor expenses and the materials and equipment needed to operate a quality STEM-certified program. "Many parents want to send their children to at least one engaging and educational program each summer and recognize that STEM specialty camps are more expensive than local recreational programs. However, even when parents try to balance the cost of specialty camps with less expensive rec camps, it's still a significant hit to the family budget. Registering one child for 5-6 weeks of summer camps is expensive, but for those with two or more children, the immediate cost to register all of their children for a full summer of camps can become cost-prohibitive," says Amanda Farris, founder and CEO of Medics Camp, a STEM-certified program where kids are doctors for a week.

According to Child’s Life, a resource that provides information about events, activities, and programs for kids and families in the Toronto, York Region, Peel, and Durham areas, the average family will spend between $400-$1,000 per week on summer camps this year. Quality day camps are in high demand, and parents often start planning and researching camps months in advance. Popular camps fill up quickly, so early registration is crucial to secure a spot. However, this also means the cost of all those camps hits the family credit card bill all at once.

To help ease the financial burden on families, Medics Camp has introduced an installment payment option. Families now have the choice to pay their camp registration balance in full at checkout or choose installments. There’s no fee or interest charge for choosing the installment plan, and the registration system automatically calculates equal payments after the deposit and charges the credit card on file each month.
