The YES Celebrates 50 Years of Leadership, Community & Connection

The YES Celebrates 50 Years of Leadership, Community & Connection The Youth Excellence Society (The YES) is proud to celebrate 50 years of empowering young people through leadership, community, and connection. Since 1975, The YES has welcomed thousands of youth from across British Columbia to camp experiences designed to inspire confidence, courage, and a commitment to service.

The YES programs give teens the chance to explore who they are and who they want to become. Through workshops, group challenges, and outdoor adventures, participants build skills in self-awareness, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Each camp is facilitated by trained youth leaders who create safe, inclusive spaces where every participant is seen and supported.

Alumni often describe their YES experience as life-changing. Many go on to take leadership roles in their schools, communities, and workplaces, carrying forward the values and confidence they first discovered at camp. The impact of The YES reaches far beyond a single summer, shaping the next generation of leaders in British Columbia.

This milestone year is both a celebration of the past five decades and a commitment to the future. To mark the occasion, The YES has released limited-edition 50th Anniversary tote bags. These totes serve as both a keepsake and a means to support the next generation of youth leaders.

Tote bags are now available, with proceeds helping to ensure that camp remains accessible for all teens. You can purchase yours here: https://www.theyes.ca/product-page/limited-edition-50th-anniversary-tote-bag
