Who are you as an organization?
7-18 year-olds have been making memories on our beautiful 76-acre ocean-front site on Thetis Island for over 60 years. Children and teens enjoy a range of adventurous watersports and land activities, along with opportunities to explore their faith. With safety and health as a top priority, we are excited to once again offer campers a fun-filled place to grow.

Be assured that safety is our top priority. Pioneer Pacific follows all Public Health and WorkSafeBC guidelines for the protection of our guests and workers. It is our hope, and the hope of the Public Health Officer that camping and safe programming will be allowed at camp this summer. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 reality we will only operate our camps this summer under the permission and guidelines provided by these governing bodies. As you know, these guidelines sometimes change so we ask for your patience as we respond as efficiently as possible.
Over the past years, we have reviewed our site and programs and implemented appropriate protocols that meet or exceed public health requirements. We have paid particular attention to dining areas, bathrooms and sleeping quarters. This includes all Provincially Mandated Health Checks and Vaccine Requirements.
We have also adjusted our programming and reduced our guest capacity so that families can participate in all programs and activities in a safe and worry-free way.
If you have any questions about registering for camp this summer, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 604.818.9762.
We are excited as we plan and prepare for another safe and fun-filled camp season. We cannot wait to be #backinthewater. Thank you so much for standing with us in this past year.

Pioneer Camp Pacific is one of nine InterVarsity camps located across the country. The camping program was begun 1929, an expression of InterVarsity, an association of campus ministries intended to bring Christian values and awareness to young people, and support their spiritual and social growth. The camps were part of the initial vision, designed to create a unique opportunity to bring young people together around the unique challenges that a camp setting can provide. That remains perhaps more true today than ever. At camp they unplug, and turn their attention to the community they find there. The activities facilitate a greater understanding of campers’ talents and abilities, as well as the Christian values that inform the programming. The camp has grown over the years, adding new activities and facilities, all of it furthering the initial goals.

Greetings from Pioneer Pacific Camp!
Each summer for over 60 years, Pioneer Pacific has been welcoming hundreds of kids to the beautiful Thetis Island. Our hope is that each camper who comes to Pioneer experiences the best summer they have ever had as they build friendships, have unique outdoor experiences, and interact with our quality summer staff.
Whether during a one week camp, a camp with the entire family, or one of our multi-week Leadership Programs, the memories built at camp can last a lifetime. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
Sincerely,
Alex
Pioneer Pacific Camp turned 60 in summer 2015! We hosted an open house that included tours of the camp, boating, field games, wibitting, lots of food, and mingling with other camp community members. Towards the end, there was a worship service and our Executive Director, Brian Burtchett, spoke. It was a full afternoon of fun and celebration.
On June 27th, 2015 we celebrated the grand opening of our new Dining Hall! This beautiful new facility can hold up to 300 people in the main dining area. It is two levels, with the dining area, leaders room, and kitchen on the top floor, surrounded by a wrap-around porch, and the tuck shop, laundry and bathroom facilities, and a general, indoor recreation area in the basement. We celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony that was open to the camp community. Although the building still needs some finishing touches, it was a lovely way to share what we’ve accomplished with the people who made it possible.
