Since 1991, the University of Victoria's Science Venture program has been delivering innovative science, engineering, and technology programming to Vancouver Island youth, 5-18 years of age. Programming includes workshops, after school clubs, summer camps, and events - all designed to stimulate the interest and passion for these subject areas. We reach over 15,000 youth in our community every year through high impact hands-on learning opportunities.
Science Venture programs are delivered year-round by UVic students from the Faculties of Engineering, Science, and Education. Our team challenges participants to explore, discover, and innovate in a safe environment.- Special needs: Yes, specialized support. A few of our campers have special needs.

Programs and Sessions Calendar
Experience the exciting world of STEM through UVic's world class facilities and mentors! Youth in our programs visit real university labs, engage in real experiments, and learn applicable skills in a fun, engaging, accessible way. Programs are tied to specific learning outcomes in the BC curriculum, so youth can enhance what they already know with deep, experiential learning.

OUR KIDS review of Science Venture - University of Victoria
Science Venture camps and programs at the University of Victoria give kids STEM programming with substance. Core day camps for youth in Grades 1 to 8 run throughout the summer on the UVic campus, taught by students. Campers get to explore labs, meet researchers, and get the university experience. Aside from the setting, these camps also stand out for the range of programming. STEM-U camps emphasize classic science exploration across fields like physics, chemistry, and biology, giving kids as young as grade one an intro to academic science labs. Maker and Coding camps lean into engineering, computer science, and design, including Minecraft-based engineering. Specialty camps include marine science, astronomy, and robotics, and still other camps include experience with the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory and Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary. Science Venture offers a rare sense of progression from elementary camp through advanced programs that are a practical stepping stone into future academic and career growth. Science Venture is ideal for intellectually curious kids and teens across Victoria.
