Pine’s Leaders-in-Training (LIT) Program is a two-week leadership experience for teens ages 15–16 who are ready to take the next step in their growth. Designed as a bridge from camper to leader, the program offers meaningful responsibility, mentorship, and hands-on learning rooted in nature and community.
LITs spend their days learning alongside Pine mentors as they develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Through a curiosity-driven curriculum and relationship-based approach, teens deepen their understanding of group dynamics, practice supporting younger campers, and build confidence in their ability to lead with care and intention.
The program also supports teens in strengthening their outdoor and naturalist skills, while encouraging reflection on their unique strengths and interests. LITs learn what it means to care for themselves, others, and the natural world, developing responsibility, empathy, and a strong sense of belonging within a community.
By the end of the program, participants leave with practical leadership experience, greater self-awareness, and skills they can carry into school, future workplaces, and their wider communities. Most importantly, they gain confidence in who they are and how they show up as leaders.
