The Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto is dedicated to providing programs and resources for students, parents, teachers, and those with a general interest in mathematics. The Mathematics Outreach Office develops and administers programs for students and teachers in Grades 1-12. We aim to foster enthusiasm for math and increase accessibility of math programs.

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto (UofT) is renowned for its commitment to inspiring a love of mathematics, offering a range of programs that blend educational rigor with engaging, real-world applications. These programs have received high praise for creating enriching and empowering experiences, as echoed by both students and parents. Participants have particularly appreciated the practical and engaging approach to learning math, the opportunity to make new friends, and the chance to explore mathematics at a university level. The department offers a variety of specialized camps and programs, including their March Break Math Camps. These week-long online camps, designed for Grades 2-8, focus on interactive and hands-on math learning, encouraging students to explore math in real-life scenarios. For example, the Data Adventure Camp for Grades 2/3 explores numbers and patterning, while the Math in Entrepreneurship Camp for Grades 4/5 integrates financial and statistical skills into a creative project. The Diamond Heist Camp for Grades 6/7 offers a spy-themed experience, combining critical thinking with Egyptian Mathematics and Cryptography. For high school students, the department offers the March Break Math Academy, an intensive, in-person enrichment program for Grades 9-12. Reflecting the general spirit of the programs, this academy also challenges students with a focus on mathematical thinking and creativity.
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto aspires to serve our community as a welcoming center for learning, communicating, and applying mathematics. Our commitment to make mathematics accessible to the broader community beyond the confines of the university is exemplified through a wide array of youth programs including hands-on math enrichment classes, math competitions, and week-long day camps. We are devoted to organizing engaging math programs for students from grades 1 to 12 that ignite their curiosity and instill a positive attitude towards learning and understanding mathematics.
